How To Toss It?

This week let’s both let go of something that needs to be tossed – but because we didn’t know what to do with it we held onto it – otherwise known as CLUTTER!

This is my favorite printer.

  • It hardly ever jams.
  • It is good on ink.
  • It is reliable.

Strike that – it WAS reliable. The trusty little printer churned out pages for years and years. But a week or so ago it printed its last sheet of paper. There is no fixing my favorite printer. The time has come to let it go.

I finally bought a bright and shiny new printer.

Now the old printer has moved from my desk chair to the desktop to the floor. From the dining table to the chair to the floor. From the kitchen counter to the chair to the floor.

It has to go. But where?

The answer: search Earth911.com by zip code for a “you-worked-great, but-now-you-are-broken, and you-are-too-expensive-to-repair, so you-have-to-go” printer disposal option.

This is my favorite hairdryer.

  • It is quiet.
  • It is compact, so it fits in a small basket under the bathroom sink.
  • It is lightweight.

A few days ago I plugged it in, it sparked and let off a puff of smoke before winding down with a sad little whimper.

I have naturally curly hair so I usually let my hair air dry. But I do blow-out my bangs. This little dryer did the job for about ten years.

I’ve since learned they no longer manufacture this model.

I did buy a new travel dryer which is working out okay. It gets hot enough to work without getting hot enough to burn my forehead – which is a plus.

The old red one has moved from the bathroom vanity to the back of the toilet to the floor. From the floor to the hallway to the kitchen chair to a bag hanging on the doorknob.

It has to go. But where?

The answer: search Earth911.com by zip code for a “you-worked-great, but-now-you-are-broken, and you-are-too-expensive-to-repair, so you-have-to-go” hairdryer disposal option.

Are you like me? What do you have hanging around until you can find the best way to dispose of it?

  • Cans of paint
  • Old tires
  • Broken appliances or electronics
  • Something else?
